To sign a PDF online, upload it, place a signature field and sign in your browser. You get back a signed PDF and a record of who signed and when.

## Send a PDF for signature

1. [Create a Flowsign account](https://my.flowsign.app/signup). Your first 3 packages are free.
2. Select **New Package** and upload your PDF.
3. Add each recipient with a name and an email address.
4. Select **Continue to fields** and drag a signature field onto the page.
5. Send. Each signer is emailed a private link.

## Sign a PDF yourself

Add yourself as a recipient with **Add me**, place your signature field and send. You then sign from the app like any other signer.

## What the signer sees

The signer opens the link on any device and signs in the browser. No account, nothing to install.

If they are in the room with you, host an in-person session and hand over your own device.

## What you get back

The completed package is sealed into a tamper-evident record. Download the signed documents and the certificate of completion from the package page.

## Other file types

Word, Excel, PowerPoint and image files work the same way.

## Is it legally binding?

For most documents in New Zealand, yes. See our guide to [e-signature law in New Zealand](https://flowsign.app/blog/are-electronic-signatures-legal-in-new-zealand).

Sending the same PDF often? Save it as a template. The [pricing page](https://flowsign.app/pricing) shows what each plan includes.
