# Flowsign hosting: why we're Australian or NZ hosted

Every Flowsign workspace is hosted in Sydney by default. Why we chose Australia, and how Enterprise teams can have their own database in Auckland.

We built Flowsign for teams on both sides of the Tasman, so we host it on this side too.

That keeps your documents close to home and the app quick for New Zealand and Australian users.

## What lives in Sydney

Flowsign runs on two infrastructure providers, both in Sydney.

- **The app.** Flowsign itself runs on AWS in Sydney.
- **Your data.** The database, sign-in and document storage run on Supabase, also in Sydney.

A few services, such as email delivery, come from separate providers. Our [sub-processors page](https://flowsign.app/legal/sub-processors) lists every one and where it holds data.

## Why we chose Sydney

It comes down to three things.

- **Data close to home.** Your documents are stored on this side of the Tasman, near the teams who use them.
- **Speed.** Servers near New Zealand and Australian users mean a quicker app. Your recipients get a quicker signing screen too, often on a phone between jobs.
- **A clear answer.** When a security review asks where your data is hosted, the answer is one word: Sydney.

## What your security team asks next

Once you know where your documents are stored, the next question is how they're protected.

- **Encrypted.** Documents are protected with TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest.
- **Isolated.** Each workspace is kept separate from every other.
- **Sealed.** Completed documents and the certificate of completion carry a digital seal, so any edit after signing breaks it.

## Your own database in Auckland

Some organisations want their database held in New Zealand itself. We've got you.

- **Dedicated.** A database set up for your organisation alone.
- **In Auckland.** It runs on AWS in Auckland, in New Zealand.
- **On request.** It's part of Enterprise, and we set it up when you ask.
